A 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was created in 2007 by the state of Delaware SENATE BILL NO. 18. They are self-funded initiative, no cost to Delaware taxpayers and received 72 million of initial funding from wall-street.

Offers renewable and energy-efficiency programs that help Delawareans reduce their carbon footprint from new insulation to higher-efficiency appliances and HVAC equipment. They also help companies, governments, nonprofits and faith-based organizations by providing commercial-grade energy audits and recommendations, revolving loan and energy investment funds, grants for clean solar and geothermal energy.

Partners with state agencies, utilities, public-advocacy and community-action groups, and other organizations to offer our programs to people statewide. They also offer direct loans and built a network of participating contractors who deploy their program resources.

Offers renewable and energy-efficiency programs that help Delawareans reduce their carbon footprint. Programs range from the most popular Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® home assessments and rebates to low-interest loans that help businesses including farms, nonprofits, congregations, schools, government, and residents convert to solar or install energy-efficient systems.

ENERGIZE DELAWARE PROGRAMS: 1. Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® for Homeowners 2. Assisted Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® 3. Home Energy-Efficiency Loan Program 4. Online Marketplace 5. Affordable Multifamily Housing 6. Home Energy Counseling and Check-up Program 7. ZeMod 8. Residential Solar Loans 9. Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) 10. Empowerment Grant/Energy Equity Fund Nonresidential: initiatives benefit non-residential, industrial and commercial customers, including businesses, farms, municipalities, schools and universities, hospitals and non-profit entities such as government and faith-based organizations. Programs range from valuable energy audits and revolving low-interest loans to grants for solar and geothermal heating and cooling, and much more. They use the following programs: 1. DELAWARE PROPERTY ASSESSED CLEAN ENERGY (D-PACE) designed to help qualifying commercial, industrial, agricultural, nonprofit and multifamily (with five or more units) property owners access long term financing for the installation of qualifying energy improvements. Such improvements may include any construction, renovation or retrofitting of energy efficient technology, clean energy systems, or qualifying waste heat recovery technologies that are permanently fixed to qualifying commercial property. 2. LOW INTEREST COMMERCIAL LOAN PROGRAM: With this program, businesses can borrow from $10,000 up to $2,000,000 per project, with attractive terms and interest rates for energy efficiency measures and renewable energy initiatives. 3. SOLAR RENEWABLE ENERGY CREDITS: Commercial businesses with solar electricity can earn extra income by selling their excess energy back to Delmarva Power through the SREC (Solar Renewable Certificates) Energy Auction. Business: AFFORDABLE MULTIFAMILY HOUSING: This program provides multifamily building owners with technical assistance, financial incentives and low-cost financing for energy efficiency upgrades and renewable energy investments to reduce building operating costs. Farm: offers new ways for farmers, ranchers, growers and other agri-businesses to take charge of their energy future through our available programs, loans, grants, credits and much more. FARM PROGRAM: This program, developed in partnership with EnSave, helps farmers and other agri-businesses to receive loans up to $400,000 and grants up to $100,000 towards new HVAC systems, lighting, poultry house insulation, irrigation pump replacement and more. Public/Non-Profit: offers new ways for municipalities, universities, schools and faith-based and nonprofit organizations to take charge of their energy future through our available revolving loans, performance contracting program, energy efficiency investment, faith efficiencies partnerships, geothermal and solar grants, green energy program, commercial energy auditors and much more. 1. GRANTS FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES: Energize Delaware’s Solar for Libraries Grant Program offers public libraries across the state the opportunity to go solar. 2. GRANTS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT EV FLEETS: County and Local Governments that are interested in adding Electric Vehicles to their fleets can now get assistance. 3.GRANTS FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS TO GO SOLAR: Energize Delaware’s Solar for School Districts Grant Program offers districts across the state the opportunity to go solar.
